Celebrate Recovery Celebration Place Teacher (Grades 1-5) @ New Horizon Church

Description: Seeking a responsible, committed teacher to plan & implement programming utilizing the Celebration Place curriculum (lesson preparation, supporting activities, worship, & free-play) on Thursday evenings from 6-8:30 pm.  Report directly to our New Horizon Kids Celebrate Recovery leader. 

Celebrate Recovery is a faith-based, 12-Step Family Recovery Program.  Our goal is to bring healing of hurts, hang-ups, & habits to local families. Children learn to identify and express feelings and develop coping tools.  Please visit:  www.celebraterecovery.com

Pastor to Families of Youth- Full-time (parsonage included)

Mattis Avenue Free Methodist Church, Champaign, IL.

Characteristics & Theological Orientation:

The candidate affirms the Free Methodist Articles of Religion (see FMC Book of Discipline Chapter 1), is willing to align with the practice of our theology as outlined in the Christian Journey (¶ 3000+) and meets character qualifications for leadership as outlined in the Outcomes-Based Assessment for elders in the 2023 Free Methodist Church Book of Discipline (¶ 5410+). The ideal candidate would be willing to pursue ordination in the Free Methodist Church.

Principal Outcomes:

1.) To create a nurturing environment for the youth to grow as disciples of Jesus.

Strategies:
– Provide and sustain a holistic (1) roadmap of spiritual formation. (In & through the Holy Scriptures, Wesleyan based)
– Intentionally identify, develop and train disciple-makers and leaders among students and adult volunteers.

2.) To lead a youth ministry within the cross-generational context of the Mattis Ave FMC.

Strategies:
– Network cross-generational relationships for demonstration, encouragement, and edification.
– To engage and participate within the activity and mission of the church.

Additional Responsibilities:

1.) To work actively & humbly within the MAFMC Pastoral Team (attend staff meetings & work together toward discerning & promoting the mission of joining God’s Work in our community & world).

2.) To promote, attend and participate in denominational/conference camps/events, and youth activities (i.e. Quizzing, resourcing days, growth groups, etc.).

3.) To serve as Christian Education director, overseeing areas of Youth, Children’s/Nursery, and Faithful Families programming & leadership development. This also includes sharing reports at and attending the Board of Administration meetings each month.

4.) To facilitate, participate with, and empower the local youth ministry leadership team to coordinate events, activities & meetings.

5.) To seek network with other youth leaders & pastors to serve the youth of Champaign county.

6.) To participate in Sunday morning worship services through prayer, reading, announcements, communication & occasional preaching.

First Baptist Church Youth Pastor

As Youth Pastor at FBC, you will play a vital role in nurturing the spiritual growth of our youth.
Your mission is to create a supportive, engaging environment where students want to join our
youth group and invite their friends all while growing their faith in Christ. You will report
directly to the Senior Pastor.

Spiritual Guidance:

• Provide Biblically sound teachings and mentorship to guide our youth in their
relationship with Jesus. This includes weekly Youth group messages and oversight on all
middle school and high school small groups and Sunday school.
• Organize and lead volunteers, Bible studies, and programs that align with our church’s
mission and values.

Community Building:

• Foster a sense of belonging and community among our youth, encouraging strong
relationships with one another and with God.
• Plan and coordinate family-friendly events and activities that promote fellowship and
spiritual growth in the larger body of the Church.
• Provide opportunities for students to grow in fellowship with one another while serving,
going to conferences, and fun events.

Leadership Development:

• Identify and nurture the leadership potential in students and adult volunteers, empowering
them to regularly serve within the church community.
• Provide mentoring and support to youth leaders, helping them grow in their faith and
leadership skills.

Outreach and Evangelism:

• Encourage and equip our youth to engage in outreach efforts, sharing the love of Christ
with their peers in a respectful and compassionate manner.
• Collaborate with the wider church community in service and outreach events.
• Organize and guide student outreach and mission trips locally, nationally, and
internationally.

Qualifications:

• A committed Christian with a strong and growing faith and devotional life.
• A strong, clear calling from God to be a Youth Pastor.
• Previous experience in youth ministry, with a track record of growth. You understand
youth ministry and desire to grow the ministry.
• College degree and ordination or willingness to seek ordination.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with
staff, connect with youth, and engage their families on a deep, meaningful level as well as
with adult volunteers.
• Organizational skills to plan and execute events and programs effectively.
• A collaborative spirit and the ability to work closely with church leadership and
volunteers to achieve common goals and willing to do other duties as needed.

Worship A/V Intern (Savoy, IL)

 The Worship A/V Intern will provide technical support for worship services and events, assisting the Worship Director in executing dynamic and engaging worship services.  The Worship A/V Intern will work closely with the Worship Director, church staff, and volunteers.  The Worship A/V Intern is a part-time position.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and tear down A/V tech equipment for rehearsals, services, and events.
  • Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers to run soundboard, ProPresenter, and live stream for services.
  • Maintain and operate a reliable system including audio mixing, monitor mixing, lighting production, video recording and live streaming production.
  • Create and run ProPresenter presentations.
  • Prepare music binders for worship team weekly.
  • Develop and maintain organization of sound and media equipment.
  • Aid in planning for system upgrades and enhancements.

Requirements:

  • Have a clear personal relationship with Jesus Christ and live in accordance with the Word of God.
  • Work cooperatively with the Worship Director, church staff, and volunteers.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Willing and able to learn new technology thoroughly.
  • Hands-on experience with technology in a worship setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with worship A/V equipment and software (e.g. Planning Center, ProPresenter)
  • Musical knowledge and experience such as singing and/or playing an instrument.

The Worship A/V Intern will report to the Worship Director and will be a vital part of the worship ministry at FBC Savoy.

Organist (Savoy, IL)

Job Summary: To serve as organist, providing a worshipful atmosphere for the traditional worship service(s). The Organist works under the supervision of the Worship Director. The Organist is a part-time position.

Education and Personal Experience:  This individual should have a minimum of five years experience playing the organ.  This person is to have a clear personal relationship with Jesus Christ and live in accordance with the Word of God. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Play the organ for the traditional worship service.  This typically includes the prelude, hymns, doxology, offertory, communion and/or postlude.  The organist is expected to play for other established services such as Good Friday and Christmas Eve. The music for each service will be planned by the Worship Director.
  • Maintain an accurate account of the needs of the organ for maintenance and inform the Worship Director.
  • Submit special instrumental music selections for the worship service bulletin in a timely fashion (currently due by noon each Thursday) to the Ministry Assistant.
  • Will perform other duties as requested by the Senior Pastor or the Worship Director.

Required Skills: 

  • Ability to play the organwith excellence in a worship setting.
  • Ability to read music and to assist in selecting appropriate music for the worship services in coordination with the Worship Director and Sanctuary Pianist.
  • Work cooperatively with the Worship Director, Sanctuary Pianist, Pastors and staff. 

Organ Specifications:  The FBC organ is a 1927 Hinners pipe organ, rebuilt by Buzard in 1981.  It has 2 manuals and pedal board with 34 stops and 41 ranks.

Pastor (Cissna Park, IL)

Summary: The pastor of Christian Bible Church is responsible for the care of the souls for all who claim 
this church as their own. In meeting the qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7, our pastor is to be a 
man of prayer, study, evangelism, compassion, love, and servant-leadership. 
 
He must strive to build and maintain a good reputation in the communities served by our church 
so as to reach those communities with the love of the Father and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, 
doing so by the power of the Holy Spirit. Caring for the sick, elderly, grieving, and overlooked 
must not only be a primary concern of his vocationally, but also personally. 
 
Our pastor must be committed to the Word of God, recognizing it as the final authority in his life 
and in the life of the congregation in all matters of faith, life, and conduct. Finally, our pastor 
must be willing to be honest and forthright about his strengths as well as his weaknesses as he 
strives to point people towards Jesus for their salvation and sanctification.

 Description: Dewey Community Church is a small-town, rural congregation with a Sunday worship attendance of 125. Our 

members generally live and attend school in nearby Fisher. Although we live in an agricultural community, our 
members have a wide range of ages and occupations, with nearby Champaign–Urbana offering many 

opportunities for employment and recreation. 

 Our junior- and senior-high youth ministry draws 20 students from the church and community, and the 

number of young families in our congregation has been growing steadily, with our Awana program currently 
drawing 60 students. Other youth programs include Bible quizzing (grades 7–12) and a basketball ministry 

(grades 1–6; 100 players and 20 staff). 

 We belong to the Fellowship of Evangelical Churches and subscribe to its statement of faith. 

Our desired candidate is firmly rooted in his relationship with Jesus Christ, as shown by his godly character and 
practice of spiritual disciplines, and will cause that relationship to bear fruit by actively connecting with young 
people to mentor them as disciples of Jesus Christ. He will use his growing knowledge of the Bible to teach the 

Scriptures, helping youth and the congregation as a whole apply biblical truths to their life. 

 We seek a self-starter who will work with volunteer youth sponsors to plan, develop, implement, and promote 

comprehensive ministries that create opportunities for worship, fellowship, discipleship, service, and 
evangelism, stimulating an intense desire among the youth to participate as members of the congregation. He 
will build relationships in our church, community, and schools, informally and in collaboration with other 
Christian ministries in the FEC and locally, and will oversee DCC’s Christian education ministries, including 

Sunday schools and VBS. 

 Previous youth ministry experience is required, professionally or as a volunteer, but formal training in Bible and 

youth ministry, though welcomed, is not mandatory.
