TASTE OF SEMINARY

The Taste of Seminary lectures are a space where our faculty share fresh insights in their areas of expertise and help set the table for meaningful conversation about faith and culture. On October 6, Dr. Cuffey offers our second of four evening lectures (7:00–8:30 p.m.) at the Champaign Public Library, each followed by an open Q&A. Whether you’re brand new to Urbana Seminary or a longtime friend, we’ve saved a spot at the table just for you!

Paul’s instructions about women in 1 Timothy 2 have confounded many: don’t wear gold or pearls? no braiding hair? no teaching men? saved through childbearing?  Is the apostle giving instructions meant for all times and cultures, or is he addressing a very specific situation in that setting only?  Together we will examine the text, keeping an eye on what Timothy’s location in Ephesus tells us about Paul’s actual concerns.
