Come Explore Together with Urbana Theological Seminary!

With our small class sizes and dedicated faculty we provide a personalized experience to help you discover how your faith and daily life connect now and into the future.

What makes classes at UTS different?

Intellectual Hospitality

We set a table for students of many different backgrounds to probe vital aspects of life and faith from a historic Christian perspective.

We engage openly with perspectives different from our own—with curiosity, kindness, and love.

Foundation in Scripture

We are grounded firmly in the historic Christian faith revealed in the Bible.

The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are our authority—guiding our faith and practice.

Formation in Christ

We form the whole person to love, know, and serve God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and connect deeply with others.

We form students for service to the whole world: serving Christwhoever you are, wherever you’re headed.

Follow your Interests…

We offer core seminary classes such as biblical languages, theology, and spiritual formation.

We also offer unique seminary courses focusing on culture and Christianity, the Inklings, and even Harry Potter!

See What’s Possible…

"Before I found UTS, I was struggling to navigate all the different schools of thought and resources, as I wanted to learn more about Christianity. I also wasn't sure about my beliefs or where I would fit in the Christian community. Urbana Seminary gave me a safe place where I could develop in faith while surrounded by supportive professors and classmates."

Kay Avila, Current Student

"I am thankful for the classmates that became friends and fellow sojourners on the journey of learning together. Ultimately, earning my certificate was a way to gain knowledge in a variety of disciplines that continues to bear fruit in my work and ministry almost 10 years later!"

Bonnie Arends, GCCS Alumna 2015

"UTS has brought a new level of enjoyment and depth into my discipline studying the Word and learning more about God. As I better understand the overarching story of the Bible, I’ve been resourced with how to dive deep into a passage, and how to navigate the theological waters of interpretation and application."

Nick Modrzejewski, Pastor and M.A.R. alumnus
