SUMMARY:Film Beyond the Screen: How Christians Can Use Movies to Interact with Culture
DESCRIPTION:TASTE OF SEMINARY\nThe Taste of Seminary lectures are a space where our faculty share fresh insights in their areas of expertise and help set the table for meaningful conversation about faith and culture. On October 20\, Dr. Durst offers our first of four evening lectures (7:00–8:30 p.m.) at the Champaign Public Library\, each followed by an open Q&A. Whether you’re brand new to Urbana Seminary or a longtime friend\, we’ve saved a spot at the table just for you! \nDate: Tuesday\, October 20\nTime: 7:00-8:30 pm\nLocation: Champaign Public Library\n(Room: 215 Friends) \nFilm is often at the center of culture\, reflecting the current time and place and offering critiques or echo chambers. But how can Christians engage with film in meaningful ways while remaining discerning? This talk offers a typology of the different ways Christians can engage with film\, providing a practical approach to enter the cultural conversation.
